USPA NEWS - The French Prime Minister, Edouard Philippe, introduced a bill extending the state of health emergency and supplementing its provisions. It is to be debated on Tuesday at National Assembly and the Senate to be voted. The bill extends the state of health emergency in force for a period of two months, starting on May 24, 2020. It supplements the measures that may be taken by the Prime Minister with a view to lifting lockdown. It specifies the administrative quarantine and solitary confinement regimes, detailing the conditions under which these measures can be authorized by the Prime Minister.

The French Prime Minister, Edouard Philippe, introduced a bill extending the state of health emergency and supplementing its provisions. It is to be debated on Tuesday at National Assembly and the Senate to be voted. The bill extends the state of health emergency in force for a period of two months, starting on May 24, 2020. It supplements the measures that may be taken by the Prime Minister with a view to lifting lockdown. It specifies the administrative quarantine and solitary confinement regimes, detailing the conditions under which these measures can be authorized by the Prime Minister. Thus, quarantine or isolation may be decided by the representative of the State upon arrival on the national territory or in one of the communities of articles 73 and 74 of the Constitution, in New Caledonia or in the community of Corsica. The bill also subjects these measures to the supervision of the liberty and detention judge.
